Husband and wife team, Ian and Leanne Neeland have created a sweet little sister to the Yarra Valley and Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie and Ice Creameries. The new Mornington Peninsula Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery has been designed as a charming seaside petite chocolaterie, filled with a careful selection of hand-crafted couverture chocolate creations sure to capture the imaginations of chocolate enthusiasts young and old.
The new Chocolaterie occupies the site of the former Mornington Peninsula Chocolates, which has been transformed with the addition of an Ice Creamery and Brownie Bar plus a tasting room to host truffle tastings, kids’ classes and hands-on chocolate making workshops.
The chocolate collection will be lovingly handcrafted by experienced Belgian and French Chocolatiers, Thomas Wierinck and Anna Guinet who have been crafting delicacies at the Yarra Valley and Great Ocean Road Chocolateries. Together they are creating 180 unique chocolate varieties for the new Chocolaterie, with a special focus on truffles. Local truffle lovers will be able to savour creations made famous by the previous owners with flavours such as Chilli & Tequila, Blood Orange & Tonka Beans and Tangy Lime Caramel.
Beyond the mouth-watering chocolate treats, the Ice Creamery will launch just in time to cool Flinders beach lovers over the hot Victorian summer. Specialising in premium Italian gelato, the selection of 16 flavours will be made fresh daily from seasonal fruit and locally sourced ingredients, along with the Chocolaterie’s own couverture chocolate of course.
Holiday-makers looking for a sweet treat will be able to indulge in the scrumptious selection on offer at the Brownie Bar, with a revolving menu of flavours such as Triple Choc, Mint, Cherry Ripe, Nutella and Baileys.
