Join us for the first of the 3 Farmers and a Chef food events taking place in the coming year.
Our first event will be a lunch held amongst the aging barrels of Crittenden Estate's private barrel room. There, three of the region's best farmers have joined forces with the award-winning Chef Michael Cole from Flinders Hotel, to take you on a tantalising food and wine journey.
This event will provide you with an unprecedented look behind the curtain up close and personal experience with a chef and 3 farmers from the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.
Michael Cole is an award-winning chef with 18 years' experience in hospitality. A graduate of William Angliss Institute, Michael is co-Head Chef at Flinders Hotel at Mornington Peninsula and has a diverse knowledge of food trends and is influenced by his global roaming and cultural gastronomic experiences from Australia, Europe and Asia.
Michael has been selected as Australia's candidate for Bocuse d'Or, Michael was named Chef of the Year 2017 at Foodservice Australia, and competed in World Chefs in Malaysia in June 2018.
Crittenden Estate is an iconic vineyard on the Mornington Peninsula. Gary Crittenden first planted in 1982 at the Estate and this marked the beginning of wine tourism on the Mornington Peninsula. A legend in local tourism Gary has passed the baton to son Rollo Crittenden who grew up among the young vines and now aptly carries on the tradition of winemaking at the Estate.
Rollo was named Australian Young Gun of Wine in 2010, an award that recognises the best of the best in winemakers. Rollo is the first of our farmers.
