Cellar Doors

Quealy Winemakers

Wine Food Farm Gate Quealy Winemakers Cellar Door takes you right into the heart of the winery, tasting amidst the barrels and terracotta amphora. Kathleen and Kevin first arrived on the Mornington Peninsula in 1988 and have spent the subsequent years cultivating a reputation for single vineyard expressions of regional heroes Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, sourced from some of the oldest and finest sites. Quealy's experience of Italian winemaking tradition has inspired Secco Splendido, Pobblebonk, Pinot Grigio and
little-grown Friulano variety. Open daily, come and taste with our experienced team including resident cellar paw Ninj and Kooky the Koala.

With more than 50 cellar door wineries and some of Australia’s top wines right here on the Mornington Peninsula, there is bound to be something that suits your palette.

In one of the world’s most respected wine magazines, Andrew Jefford also said: “I wrote that it was almost like the Chambolle-Musigny vintage for Mornington. A wonderful amount of grace and impressive force. Super-attractive wines.” It all began in the 1970s with a handful of visionary winemakers, and by the 1990s the Mornington Peninsula was recognised as one of the most exciting new regions in the world for extraordinary Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Now, an even more intimate understanding of the Mornington Peninsula’s hills and valleys, micro-climates and their unique ‘terroir’ is leading to a greater sense of place and individuality in these wines. Outstanding Pinot Grigio/Gris, Shiraz and other varietals have also claimed their place. So come and talk to our Mornington Peninsula winemakers and explore Red Hill, Main Ridge, Merricks, Balnarring, Moorooduc and Dromana. More than 50 cellar doors, ranging from the rustic to grand landmarks, are operated by 200 vineyards, and many are open seven days a week. There’s a fabulous range of food too, from casual shared platters through to fine dining restaurants.
