Programs at the Moonah Links Golf Academy are designed for all forms of player development incorporating state of the art coaching, sport science, fitness training and associated activities. Administered by a team of accomplished professionals experienced in working with the Australian Institute of Sport and leading tour players, options range from individual lessons and clinics thru to live-in training and development programs. Mark Holland, Head Coach with the Australian Institute of Sport Golf Program played an integral part in designing and developing these world-class practice and training facilities. Leading international golf physiotherapist Ramsay McMaster oversees the physiotherapy program which includes posture analysis, muscle imbalance assessment, musclar-skeleto screening, video analysis and the latest Titleist Performance Institute Screening Program. Ramsay undertakes these screenings and presents a number of “Train like a Tour Player” workshops that look at areas such as spinal care, tournament preparation, travel and posture. Customized sessions can then be arranged in physiotherapy, myotherapy and massage.

Moonah Classic 2008

Australia’s newest international golf championship, the Moonah Classic will be staged at the Open Course at Moonah Links from 21-24 February 2008.
The new co-sanctioned Australasian PGA TOUR and Nationwide Tour tournament will feature a talent of players from Australia and the United States and boasts one of the largest prize pools ever offered on the Nationwide Tour with an AUD$850,000 purse.
The third event on the 2008 Nationwide Tour schedule the Moonah Classic consolidates the strong US Tour relationship and player pathway that has developed between the Tour over the past five years and is part of a two event ”down under swing” following the HSBC New Zealand PGA Championship.

Mornington Peninsula Harvest to Table Festival 2008

The Mornington Peninsula’s fabled Pinot Noir takes centre stage in the 2008 Harvest to Table Festival, with 11 days of sipping and sampling Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio and Pinot Meuniere complemented by fabulous food and fresh produce from the region’s chefs and gourmet producers. The festival kicks off with the annual Red Hill Long Lunch on February 29, and romps through a delicious series of parties, picnics, Peninsula platters and Pinot dinners until the end of Victoria’s long weekend on Monday March 10. Mornington Peninsula tempts travellers with a $3000 wine cellar
|
|
Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula produces some of Australia’s most coveted Pinot Noir, and travellers who visit during winter could head home with a $3000 wine cellar containing around ten dozen of the Peninsula’s finest wines.
It is the tantalising first prize in the Peninsula’s 'Winter Wine Passport' event which runs from June 10 to August 31. Forty leading wineries, restaurants, boutique accommodation and wine tour operators are taking part, and will stamp visitors’ passports each time a purchase is made.
Once a visitor has five stamps they’re eligible for the $3000 wine cellar prize. The second prize is a Mornington Peninsula 'stay, dine and ride weekend package for 2 people at Lindenderry at Red Hill, including one night’s accommodation in a Garden Room, dinner for two in the Linden Tree restaurant at Lindenderry, and a 3 hour ride on horse back through the vines and valleys of Red Hill with Horseback Winery Tours. Total prize valued at $710.00. The Third prize is a Luigi Bormioli set of fine glassware including a decanter plus sets of 8 glasses for red, white, sparkling wines and water. Total prize valued at $500.

McClelland Sculpture Survey & Award

Since its inception, in 2003, the McClelland Sculpture Survey & McClelland Award has emerged as the most important biennial outdoor sculpture exhibition in Australia. This is one of the richest sculpture awards in Australia displaying a wide range of works in different media and styles by both established and emerging artists.
35 sculptors have been selected to participate in the McClelland Sculpture Survey 2007, an exhibition highlighting the diversity and invention of contemporary sculptural practice. Displayed throughout 16 hectares of bush and landscaped gardens, the McClelland Sculpture Survey gives sculptors the opportunity to present their works in an outdoor exhibition context. The exhibition is accompanied by a major comprehensive catalogue.
The selected artists are also eligible for the McClelland Award 2007, an acquisitive award valued at A$100,000. The McClelland Award 2007 will be judged by Chris Saines, Director, Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki, New Zealand.
