The region shone the brightest in the New Tourism Business award category where the Peninsula’s entrants stole the show with a clean sweep. St Andrew’s Beach Brewery took out the lucrative gold award ahead of silver placegetter Pt Leo Estate and Sculpture Park, and Naturaliste Tours rounding out the trifecta with the bronze. It is the second year in a row the Mornington Peninsula has dominated the New Tourism Business category with Arthurs Seat Eagle collecting the award in 2017. Not to be outshone by the new kids on the block, Moonlit Sanctuary could have also stolen the show with two gold wins on the night winning the highly coveted Tourist Attraction category as well as Ecotourism.
As longstanding supporters of the awards, the Mornington Peninsula Regional Tourism team was proud to see such a rich field of entrants with 15 nominations from the region, three of whom won Gold Awards along with seven Silver, three Bronze and one Finalist.
“It is terrific to see the industry embrace the spirit of co-operative competition in a night of celebration of what Victorian tourism has on offer” said Angela Cleland, Director Operations and Industry, Mornington Peninsula Regional Tourism Board.
“The Mornington Peninsula Tourism Industry continues to evolve and these awards play a critical role in Mornington Peninsula’s growth as a sustainable tourism destination. It is fantastic to see the region represented so well and awarded in such a positive and prolific way,” concluded Ms Cleland.
