So we know it’s going to be cold for a while now, but let’s not fall into an icy slump. There’s plenty to do on the Peninsula to keep your senses alive this winter. We get that there’s the temptation to curl up at home and stay warm until the chilly weather departs, but we’ve got plenty of things to do and see in the colder months. So tackle Winter head on and work you way through our 30 things to tick off on our winter bucket list!
Mushrooms are packed with antioxidants and a major source of protein, fibre, vitamins B and C, and they taste delicious! On the Mornington Peninsula there are people with a passion for mushrooms in all sorts of ways: foraging, cooking, eating. You can even try a mushroom cappuccino! There are some 10,000 species of funghi in Australia (not all of them are edible), so for those wanting to get close to the source, we suggest joining some experienced mushroom hunters. Don your gumboots and enjoy a guided ramble. You’ll be surprised at how much you learn along the way.
