Cross Gunnamatta beach car park to the far western corner, and take the link track which provides access past a second smaller car park and toilet and out onto the main entry road where the track turns left down to the beach. This section between Gunnamatta Beach and Boag Rocks to the west is along the iconic surf beach which can be steep and of soft sand at high tide, making it challenging walking. Walking around the headland that is at Boags Rocks should be done at low tide and extreme care taken.Upon passing Boag Rocks, proceed up the sealed road for 150 metres to the stairs which access the shared walking track and horse trail. Follow this until it heads back onto the eastern end of St Andrews beach. This long stretch of beach walking passes inland with escape routes to St Andrews Beach car park, Moana Court and Ocean Drive before finishing at the Rye Ocean Beach car park with toilet facilities and drinking water. This walk can be completed in either direction and joins Cape Schanck in the east to Number 16 Beach to the west as part of the 30km Coastal Walk.
