Spring gardens and blooms

Spring is the time to appreciate the splendour of the outdoors. Flowers are in bloom, gardens thrive – enjoy the opportunity to slow down and breathe in all the natural beauty of the season. As we stay close to home, here are some enchanting gardens to inspire your plans for future family-friendly fun on the Mornington Peninsula.

Home of The Diggers Club, this garden is a living catalogue of plants, fruits and vegetables, including heirloom vegetables. Shop for plants and seeds after having lunch in the historic homestead with a menu crafted from seasonal produce much of which is grown in their garden.

Beleura House and Garden

Beleura House and Garden is a beautiful time capsule, a theatre of the past. Beleura’s landscape unfolds from one garden into another to create a lively sense of discovery. At five-and-a-half hectares - there are several gardens within a garden. Together all combine to create a peaceful place beyond the urban, of solace and serenity.

The Briars

The Briars is a beautiful 230-hectare property in Mount Martha. Visitors can enjoy walks and wildlife spotting through the wildlife sanctuary or become immersed in history with a tour through the heritage homestead. The Briars invite you to wander the many nature walks, explore the historic homestead and become familiar with the local wildlife.

Boneo Discovery Park

Boneo Maze is an eco-activity wetland surrounded by 27 acres of Native flora and fauna. Focusing on providing family-friendly fun through art, nature, and play it is the home of Sand Sculpting Australia. If you are looking for something more relaxed, you can take a stroll along the 1.5-kilometre boardwalk through the wetlands; an enchanting environment where birds nest, frogs croak, and Water Hens paddle on the waterways.

Enchanted Adventure Garden

The Enchanted Adventure Garden is an award-winning natural fun park. There are several magical mazes to explore across the park. Featuring unique topiary, sculptures, puzzles and more. Walk along the boardwalk around Enchanted Lake, and you will see the latest of the hedge mazes, complete with a viewing platform.

Cruden Farm

Cruden Farm is one of Victoria's most exciting green spaces. More than 80 years in the making, the garden at Cruden Farm is a small country set amid dense suburbia. The property was left by Dame Elisabeth Murdoch for people to enjoy and consists of wondrous manicured gardens and peaceful walking areas, set amongst lush bushland around the lake and the lagoon. The sights and scents at Cruden Farm alter dramatically throughout the seasons and are well worth exploring.

Coolart Homestead and Wetlands

A visit to Coolart Homestead and Wetlands will take you to bird heaven.   The restored mansion is surrounded by perennial gardens but the larger 87.5 hectares coastal bush reserve is home to 3000 birds. There are walking tracks throughout the wetlands, beautiful gardens, picnic areas and barbeques. Borrow binoculars and bird identification cards from the visitor centre to try your hand at bird spotting.

Seawinds Gardens

Royal Botanic Gardens, Cranbourne
