How to get here

The journey begins

You can leave Melbourne and be in the heart of the Mornington Peninsula’s hinterland in about an hour. It couldn’t be a more relaxing, pleasant drive. Whether you choose to take the coastal roads, the freeways or the seaways, you’ll be gifted with superb views en route.

The best way to explore here is to drive yourself. From EastLink at Carrum Downs, the Peninsula Link will conveniently take you to the heart of the Mornington Peninsula, ending at Mount Martha. The majority of roads throughout the region are well maintained and clearly numbered. GPS can be misleading and it is always advisable to consult a map and road signs as you go to reinforce you are on the correct route.

Public transport around the Mornington Peninsula is via a combination of train and bus services. From Frankston train station, there are buses available to Portsea on the Port Phillip coastline and to Flinders via Hastings on the Western Port side. There is no public transport into the hinterland area. Buses and trains all require ‘myki’ ticketing. This ticketing is valid for all of Melbourne's trains, trams and buses, including those on the Mornington Peninsula. The reusable smart ‘myki’ card is easy to use; simply top up before your journey and then touch on and touch off at a myki reader as you travel.

The local Taxi Service can offer service from Mt. Eliza to Portsea on the Port Phillip side of the region, and Pearcedale/Baxter to Flinders on the Western Port side. Frankston Radio Cabs Taxi Bookings 03 9786 3322
