Coffee culture with a difference

How do I take my coffee? Seriously, very seriously…. For many, the quest for the perfect coffee is like the search for the perfect partner – serious stuff. Here on the Peninsula, we pride ourselves on offering the coffee connoisseur the perfect cup served with a side of peninsula lifestyle. We’ve carved out a coffee culture with a difference, read on only if you are willing to be tempted.

The Veranda Coffee Window at Merricks General Wine Store welcomes customers to wake up and smell the coffee from 7am. Covered in salt, sand still between toes, for many early morning coffee drinkers in Merricks, the day has already begun with the hunt for a working break at local surf favourites Crunchy Pt. or Pines. A coffee served up by the seasoned baristas of Merricks is the ideal companion to the ‘Zen’ state that comes after riding that perfect wave into the day.

Tried every coffee? We’ve found something you might like that challenges how you like it served up. At Blue Mini Café Rosebud, you can immerse yourself in a complete coffee tasting experience with their signature, Boneo Road Roasters paddle. A celebration of their in-house coffee, it showcases their Exhilarate house blend in different forms. A feast for the senses, coffee lovers can try an expresso, mocha brownie, chocolate coated coffee beans and the provisions to make their own affogato.  Feel good as you sip your brew knowing nothing goes to waste at Blue Mini. With local sustainability on the agenda, they have partnered with Wheelers Hill Soaps to use their coffee over grinds to make a range of coffee soaps using all natural ingredients - not only good for your skin, organic and vegan friendly but smell good enough to eat.

Does coffee signify the last delicious chapter of a meal for you — the dreamy combo of a double shot latte and a dessert your ideal end to a feed — perhaps that’s the only part of the meal you are interested in!  At Sunny Ridge Strawberry Farm, you can enjoy a delicious blend of fair-trade coffee with an abundance of strawberry inspired sweet dessert temptations. A destination for fresh seasonal Main Ridge berries; what’s not to love. Your only challenge will be which dessert to choose to accompany your coffee.

Want that winery experience without the wine? The ultimate adult playground, Tucks offers coffee lovers a delicious cup while sitting under their glorious tree or lingering after a long lunch on the terrace overlooking the vines. Surrounded by water and cooling breezes, the Peninsula maritime climate might provide the unique growing conditions for the fruit that makes Tuck’s iconic wines, but it also makes for the perfect vista to sit, take in and sip a cup of coffee in style.
