Passion and excellence has never shone brighter. Success has come in waves for distillers along the Mornington Peninsula, with both JimmyRum and Chief’s Son Distillery taking out notable accolades at the 2021 Australian Distilled Spirits Awards. Time to celebrate? Of course, we say!
Bringing home a total of four medals and two trophies on the night, JimmyRum has paved the way for complete acclaim, as they were recognised for their outstanding selection of rums to warm the soul. Among these awards was the esteemed honour of Champion Victorian Distillery, an exceptional achievement for founder and chief ideas man James and the extended team.
Alongside this crowning, JimmyRum received three gold medals for their Silver, Oaked and Spiced rum, one silver medal for their Navy rum as well as the Champion Cane Spirit trophy for JimmyRum Silver.
For James, these awards are a true reflection of the dedication and commitment put in by all those at Jimmy Rum. “The team can see the hard work we put in to survive COVID, to grow the brand and to grow our products is paying off.”
Also making headlines on the night was Chief’s Son Distillery, who was presented with the Champion Australian Small Batch Spirits Award.
As a celebration of brilliance in taste and outstanding expertise, the 2021 Australian Distilled Spirits Awards recognises both experienced and new creators who make up the dynamic industry. We are so proud of all our Mornington Peninsula distillers, and cannot wait to see visitors back supporting these businesses in the summertime, sipping away glorious sun-drenched afternoons and making memories to last eternally.
