Wine + Wineries

Wine just doesn’t get any better than this

Explore Mornington Peninsula wine at cellar doors and restaurants.

Mornington Peninsula wineries are some of the most celebrated in Australia. The region has gained a strong reputation for the cool climate wines of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, all with a true sense of place. A number of cellar doors also have restaurants to make for a superb wine and dining experience.

Moorooduc Estate

Established in 1981, Richard and Jill McIntyre's Moorooduc Estate is a small, family-run wine business with an enviable reputation for complex and food friendly wines.

Moorooduc Estate offers some of the finest Mornington Peninsula wine and hand-crafted produce available for tasting and purchase at cellar door.

Their philosophy is to use top quality ingredients. Intensive, hands-on care in the vineyard, with minimal use of chemicals, produces the best possible fruit for their wines. Wild yeast ferments, minimal intervention winemaking, with a nod to traditional Burgundian techniques, allow their wines to express site specificity, or terroir.

Similarly, they aim to source seasonal, local and organic ingredients for goods at cellar door and Jill's special luncheons, promoted through their mailing list.

Moorooduc Estate wines, often praised in the press, hold five star status in James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion.
