Ferries cross the water of both Port Phillip and Western Port

You can take your car across Port Phillip from Sorrento to Queenscliff or go by foot from Stony Point to Cowes.

Vehicular and passenger ferries link Sorrento across Port Philip to Queenscliff on the Bellarine Peninsula, and on to the Great Ocean Road. Ferries run on the hour every hour during the day and offer magnificent views of the multi-million dollar mansions atop the Portsea and Sorrento cliffs, and the picturesque Point Nepean and the Port Phillip Heads on the 45-minute journey to Queenscliff. The ferry operates every day of the year from 7 am until 6 pm and carries passengers, cars, caravans, buses and trucks.

There is a small inter-island ferry between Stony Point and Phillip Island that carries passengers only. It also stops at French island in the middle of Western Port.
