The Chocolaterie that hosts the annual Hot Chocolate Festival have whisked up 31 new ways to keep chocolate lovers everywhere warm this August.
The Mornington Peninsula Chocolaterie in Flinders is ready to take the classic winter beverage to hot new heights, with 31 flavours featuring everything from iced kronuts, exploding balls, chocolate creatures and melting discs to dunk, whisk and slurp over the 31 days of August.
Visitors who brave the chill will be rewarded with a revolving weekly menu of different decadent, boozy, whimsical and interactive hot choc flavours featuring dark, milk, white, ruby or caramelised white couverture chocolate, artisan ingredients and giant handcrafted marshmallows to take away.
Look out for adults only concoctions including Salted Caramel Espresso Martini and a dark chocolate French Connection with cognac filled red, white and blue balls to melt into your steaming hot drink; Poached Pear & Halzenut, Biscoff Hedgehog, Dulce de Leche Churros, an Iced Vovo with choc iced donuts for decadent dunking and a nostalgic Happy Vegemite with handcrafted caramel koalas to melt. There’s even a pink infused dedication to Barbie and a puppachino carob creation for your pooch.
Die-hard devotees of the winter warmer can enrol in Hot Chocolate Festival Tasting Sessions ($24pp) scheduled throughout August to sample eight different flavours – then get hands on creating three ‘hot chocolate spoons’ from 50 different ingredients to whisk up a personalised hot-choc anytime.
