You’ll get up close with some of our most popular hens—from the fluffy and affectionate Silkies, to the petite and charming Pekins, and the Hy-Line Browns, known for their friendly nature and reliable eggs laying.

This session will guide you through the unique characteristics, temperaments, and care needs of each breed. You'll learn about their social behavior and specific traits. We’ll also discuss the pros and cons of each breed to help you make the most informed decision for your backyard flock.

By the end of the event, you'll feel more confident about choosing the right breed for your flock. You’ll also be invited to continue your learning journey with Parts 2 and 3 of our Winter Hen-Keeping Series—two expert-led workshops designed to give you the skills and knowledge you need to set up and maintain a successful backyard chicken setup.
