Horse Riding

Horseriding and trail rides

Hop on a horse and ride in the hoof prints of the Peninsula’s early farming pioneers. Much of the hinterland is still farming country, and trail ride operators know all the best bridle paths and bush tracks for a great day in the saddle.

Never ridden a horse? There are pony rides for kids and adult riding lessons. No experience is needed for some trail rides: you can go with a gentle horse and expert guide on a winery tour, or take an easy bush ride to a spectacular ocean beach or through a national park.

If horses are your thing then the Mornington Peninsula has lots to offer. There are rides to cater for all levels of experience; from easy, scenery-rich experiences for beginners to thundering rides along ocean beaches for those well used to the saddle. Enjoy a leisurely riding tour of our famous wineries. Blending adventure with indulgence, beginners and experienced riders are guided between cellar door tastings at top wineries around Red Hill. Alternatively, join a peaceful bush trail ride that follows tranquil forest trails and country lanes that open up to reveal glorious views of the bays and hinterland. Or journey by horseback through the Mornington Peninsula National Park to ride along the rugged surf coastline of the Bass Strait ocean beach.
