Six degrees of relaxation

Breathe deeply. Let the fresh sea air cleanse mind, body and soul. Or take a walk in the peaceful hinterland, where the aromas of eucalyptus and the countryside will bring you gently down to earth.   We all need time to de-stress, reconnect with ourselves and others, and just reflect on life. The Mornington Peninsula is the perfect place to do that, and to create your personal ‘six degrees of relaxation’.

If your relaxation equals exercise, head for one of our 15 golf courses, where the game is as good as it gets. Golfing legends including Greg Norman,  Peter Thomson, Robert Trent Jones Jnr, Ross Perrett, Tony Cashmore and Tom Doak have created courses that rank amongst Australia’s best.

A long, lazy lunch at a vineyard restaurant with matched Mornington Peninsula wines may be the perfect way to unwind – just book a shuttle service so  you don’t need to drive. Pack a picnic of local produce and find a quiet spot on a beach or clifftop.  Cape Schanck is said to have Australia’s freshest air, and the post-lunch walk to Bushrangers Bay is always superb.  The dozens of beaches and bays right around Port Phillip Bay, Western Port Bay and the wild Bass Strait coastline are also beautiful spots for a quiet  stroll.  The peace of our glorious gardens is an instant  tranquiliser, with  fragrant roses and lavender, spring bulbs and blossoms, brilliant autumn displays and cosy cafés for coffee after a bracing winter walk through the trees.

Six degrees of relaxation: so many sensory experiences to leave you feeling alive and totally revitalised.
