Civic Reserve to Summerfields Wetlands Circuit, Mornington

Walk Difficulty This circuit links together some of the better paths, walkways, and pedestrian links across Mornington and takes you through some pleasant parks as well.

Start at the far (eastern) end of the small car park just south of the skate park in Mornington Civic Reserve. It is also close to a playground, BBQs, a duck pond, and an off-leash dog park.

Follow the path east past bowls and croquet clubs, through another car park onto the vast sports grounds. Follow the edge of the soccer pitch to the far corner of the sports reserve to a path between houses that crosses a road and finishes 500m later at a local street. Turn right into Bowman Drive. Continue 300-400m until the street turns left. Do not go left, but go straight via the pedestrian link to Racecourse Road.

Cross Racecourse Road and turn left. After 130m turn right through another (unmarked) pedestrian link to Kathleen Crescent. Turn right after 350m at the end into Summerfield Drive. After 50m turn left and follow the pedestrian path to the top of a small hill with a park, playground and public toilets. Take the fork to the right, follow the winding path and cross the wooden footbridge on your left into Summerfields Wetlands. Pass the pond viewing platform. Continue on for 100m until you intersect another path. Take the left path until you see the playground on your left and some parking bays on your right.

Cross the road and go 300m up Park Avenue. At Serenity Way, turn left for 50m and then right up Ellabella Way to the end. Turn left along a series of walkways and small residential streets. Emerge into Racecourse Road where you turn right.

Cross carefully to join the walking path winding along the south side of Tyabb Road. Follow this path back to the Civic Reserve, turning left along an unmade track immediately after the Rose Gardens. Follow this until you reach the first duck pond, then continue past two more ponds, the skate park and playgrounds until you reach the car park where you started.
