A Celebration of Light, Hearth, and Harvest!
As the longest night of the year settles over the Peninsula, Max’s Restaurant invites you to gather around the table and celebrate the turning of the season. The Winter Solstice marks a moment of quiet magic when the earth pauses, the stars shine brighter, and the promise of light begins to return.
For over three decades, Max’s has stood as a warm refuge through the cold, offering comfort, connection, and exceptional fare crafted from the land that surrounds us. This year’s Solstice Feast is a heartfelt tribute to the Peninsula’s winter harvest think root vegetables pulled from rich soils, heirloom grains, local game, slow-cooked braises, and orchard fruits kissed by frost.
The menu draws from ancient traditions food cooked over open fire, kissed by the sea, and inspired by the rustic techniques of medieval times. Vegetables, herbs, seafood, meats, and fruits come together in a wild, immersive feast. Each dish is born of flame, smoke, and season an offering of nature transformed into flavour, crafted into a banquet for the ages.
With fires crackling, wine flowing, and stories shared across long tables, this is more than a meal it’s a seasonal ritual. A chance to reconnect with nature’s rhythm, to honour our growers and makers, and to raise a glass to the returning sun.
Join us for an evening of warmth, wonder, and wild local flavour. Celebrate the solstice at Max’s where the land meets the table, and the spirit of winter glows from within.
