Violinist Christian Li returns to Melbourne to perform the powerful Brahms Violin Concerto by Johannes Brahms—the single concerto he is focusing on mastering in 2026. The Melbourne-born virtuoso began working with the orchestra as a teenager and now returns after building a successful career in the United Kingdom.

Conductor Tianyi Lu leads the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in a program exploring 19th-century composers from around the world. Highlights include Swan Lake Suite by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and the rarely performed Andante quasi recitativo for Strings by Swedish composer Elfrida Andrée, written in 1877, the same year Swan Lake premiered.
