This winter, we invite you beyond the table — into the soil, the season and the stories behind one of winter’s most prized ingredients.
Soil & Cellar is a curated collaboration between Flinders Truffles and Polperro Winery, tracing a journey from the cool coastal soils of Flinders to the vineyards of Red Hill. A day grounded in provenance that begins beneath the oak trees and concludes in the cellar.
The Hunt in Flinders
Your experience begins against the dramatic coastal backdrop of Flinders.
At Flinders Truffles, Jane and Tony Groves will guide you through an authentic truffle hunt beneath rows of French oak. Alongside their highly trained Lagotto truffle dogs, Enzo and Lucy, you’ll witness the quiet precision between dog, grower and land as prized black truffles are uncovered from beneath the soil.
You’ll gain insight into the delicate ecosystem that sustains these culinary treasures and experience the unmistakable aroma of a freshly unearthed truffle — earthy, complex and intoxicating.
With expanded capacity this year, we are delighted to offer the hunt experience exclusively to Soil & Cellar guests.
The Evening in Red Hill
As twilight settles over Red Hill, the experience continues at Polperro Winery.
Take your seat in our dining room for a five-course truffle-led menu designed to honour the depth and nuance of freshly harvested black truffles. Each dish is composed with restraint, allowing the ingredient to speak clearly and seasonally.
Every course is paired with Polperro and Even Keel cool-climate wines, selected to complement the truffle’s earthy intensity and reflect the character of the Mornington Peninsula.
The Experience
Soil & Cellar is more than a dinner. It is an opportunity to connect directly with growers and makers while experiencing the Peninsula at its most atmospheric.
Tactile, immersive and grounded in provenance, it is a seamless expression of soil, season and cellar.
Truffle season is fleeting. Seats for this collaboration are limited.
Join us in celebrating winter’s most coveted ingredient and the quiet alchemy that happens when land and table meet.
