Join us for an In Conversation event at MPRG with internationally acclaimed artist Helen Britton and MPRG Curator Rebecca Owens, as they delve into the stories, processes and ideas behind Helen’s exhibition The Story So Far.

On loan from the Australian Design Centre, Sydney, this significant touring exhibition traces the evolution of Helen’s remarkable practice, bringing together works that span years of making, thinking and collecting. Originally developed to celebrate Helen’s expansive contribution to contemporary jewellery and object-making, The Story So Far reveals her fascination with memory, material and narrative—where each piece carries echoes of place, history and personal discovery.

Known for her distinctive approach, Helen challenges the conventions of jewellery, blending traditional techniques with found objects, historical references and playful experimentation. Her work sits at the intersection of art and storytelling, inviting audiences to reconsider how objects hold meaning and connect us across time.

In this engaging conversation, Helen and Rebecca will explore the exhibition’s origins, its journey to MPRG, and the ideas that shape Helen’s practice—offering unique insight into one of Australia’s most influential contemporary artists.

Stay on after the talk to continue the conversation over drinks and nibbles.

Tickets from $20pp.
