Gunnamatta Coastal Walk: Sand, Surf & Trail (10km) with Walk Mornington Peninsula

Saturday 22 August 2026 | From 8am

Contact

Contact Name: Walk Mornington Peninsula

Location

1100 Truemans Road
Fingal, 3939 Victoria

Gunnamatta Ocean Beach is renowned for its epic surf — but beyond the waves lies a network of incredible coastal tracks waiting to be explored.

On this hike, you’ll be immersed in rugged coastline, rolling dunes, and uninterrupted ocean views, with the chance to watch surfers carving through the waves below. It’s raw, wild, and uniquely Mornington Peninsula.

Expect a mix of sand walking, narrow winding trails, and coastal shrubland. The soft sand adds a noticeable challenge underfoot, engaging your legs and elevating the intensity – this is a great hike for those wanting a solid workout while still enjoying incredible scenery.

We’ll set off from Gunnamatta Ocean Beach, heading towards St Andrews Beach, covering approximately 10–12km on a mix of sand and trail before returning along the same route.

Thinking of coming solo? You won’t be the only one — most of our hikers do. Our walks are relaxed, welcoming, and a great way to meet like-minded people.

We’d love to have you join us.
