Discover sustainable floristry techniques while creating a seasonal, garden-inspired arrangement without the use of floral foam. Participants will learn how to construct a naturalistic design using a reusable vessel and chicken-wire armature, a traditional and reusable mechanic favoured by many contemporary sustainable florists.

This hands-on workshop introduces practical techniques that can be easily replicated at home, while exploring the principles of environmentally conscious floral design. Working with seasonal flowers and foliage, participants will create their own arrangement to take home.

Domenica Vavala is a botanical designer, visual artist, and founder of Lupini Floral. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art and has exhibited as a practising artist for many years before transitioning into floral design. Her training includes studies in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Australia, including the KFDA Certificate II (Hong Kong, 2025), and ongoing study in Sogetsu Ikebana. Drawing on both contemporary art practice and international floral traditions, Domenica creates engaging workshops that foster creativity, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation of the natural world.
