Wine Food Farmgate reveals the Mornington Peninsula’s most delicious secrets. How do you get a sensational seasonal snapshot of the Mornington Peninsula? Just follow the Mornington Peninsula Wine Food Farmgate trail, where you can eat, forage, sip, shop, learn and tour the very best of this region.

Just drive through our region, and the Peninsula's love affair with wine, fresh produce, seafood and bountiful food on the table is quickly revealed. Taste it, sip it, pick it, catch it, take it home with you. Summer brings berries and cherries, while autumn is time for apples and pears.  In winter, forage through the hinterland for seasonal produce, warm up with a meal beside a roaring fire or enjoy your favourite tipple overlooking glorious countryside. Stride out on a beach walk then reward yourself with hot soup or a woodfired pizza and a glass of red wine in a seaside village. Return in the Spring for crisp, fresh vegies and cherry blossom.

You will find many wine, food and farmgate experiences hidden away throughout the Mornington Peninsula. You just need to know where to look. To help you discover them, we've brought the finest together to create the Mornington Peninsula Wine Food Farmgate Trail.

Delivering positive and delicious change

Even during these uncertain times, Blue Mini Eatery, Emporium and Events continues to find opportunities to grow. Now on the horizon is an expansion of their exceptional hospitality experience into the new ‘Elements’ eatery at state of the art Yawa Aquatic Centre, Rosebud.

As a winner of the best Café in 2019 Best Bites Food Awards. Blue Mini has always valued a customer-centric approach and affordable healthy eating for all. “As a passionate Peninsula local working in hospitality and tourism for the past 30 years, it seems like a natural progression to be creating a destination café at Yawa Aquatic Centre." says owner and driving force, Tracey Fleming.

Opening in 2021, Tracey is excited to continue the Blue Mini philosophy of using local, fresh produce in healthy, creative and delicious ways. “The Inspiration for Elements draws on our vibrant coastal community and landscape; a region bordered on three sides by pristine coastal waters with a rich agricultural heart," says Tracey.  “Elements will be respected not only for food quality but by an exceptional hospitality experience, driven by a customer-centric approach and affordable healthy eating for all”.

Innovation comes naturally to this talented team, with the current pandemic seeing the business pivot furiously; expanding the takeaway menu to include home-cooked meals, as well as offering a delivery service and developing their Blue Mini pantry staples range. The opportunity to renovate and restyle their space means you can browse an expanded range of local gourmet and seasonal regional produce alongside their popular range of in-house roasted coffee beans, hand blended tea, spice mixes and more. "We pride ourselves in using and showcasing local suppliers." says Tracey. "There has never been a more important time to support and buy local on the Mornington Peninsula, and we are proud to do our part.”

The Blue Mini that locals know and love will continue to trade from its Colchester Road location, and Tracey’s team of old and new faces certainly look to have assembled all the right ingredients to deliver on two exciting destination-style cafés for the Mornington Peninsula.  While we wait for the new venture, the latest Blue Mini menu is available now, featuring a fusion of well-known classics and modern dishes with a twist.
